FAWRAN – Real Time Payments

FAWRAN is a real time person to person payment service launched by Qatar Central Bank.

With FAWRAN – You can send or receive money easily and instantly in Qatar using Doha Bank Online or Mobile Banking.

All you need to do is to register your mobile number or Alias Name as your Alias ID for FAWRAN service and you can start sending money to any person who has registered FAWRAN service within Qatar using their own Mobile number or Alias Name. FAWRAN service allows the sender to verify the beneficiary before executing the money transfers.

So how does it work?

Mobile Banking

• Log in to Mobile Banking.
• Click on FAWRAN service available under Domestic transfer.
• Register for FAWRAN service by using your mobile number or Alias name under “My profile”.
• Once registered click on the tab transfer.
• Enter the mobile number or Alias Name under Alias ID of the recipient.
• Enter the amount you wish to transfer.
• Verify the transaction and enter the OTP to confirm the transaction.
• Once the transaction is done the transaction status can be checked from the history tab.

Online Banking

• Log in to Online Banking.
• Click on FAWRAN service available under Local Fund Transfer.
• Register for FAWRAN service by using your mobile number or Alias name under “My profile”.
• Once registered click on the tab Pay/transfer.
• Enter the mobile number or Alias Name under Alias ID of the recipient.
• Enter the amount you wish to transfer.
• Verify the transaction and enter the OTP to confirm the transaction.
• Once the transaction is done the transaction status can be checked from the Pay/history tab.

• FAWRAN is a 24/7 real time person to person money transfer service within the State of Qatar.
• Transactions initiated through FAWRAN in Online and Mobile Banking do not have any additional charges implied.
• Mobile number or an Alias Name can be used to register for the service.
• Deregister option is also available on Online and Mobile Banking channels.
• Only Qatar Riyal (QAR) accounts can be used as a default currency for the transfer.
• Per transaction and daily transaction limit is maximum QAR 50,000.
• Monthly limit is maximum QAR 500,000.

Terms & Conditions

1. FAWRAN is a 24/7 real time person to person money transfer service within the State of Qatar.
2. Only Qatar Riyal (QAR) account can be used as a default currency for the transfer.
3. Transactions initiated through FAWRAN in Online and Mobile Banking do not have any additional charges implied.
4. The customer acknowledges and confirms to transfer money to the registered Alias Name OR Mobile Number that is provided by the individual.
5. Account that is intended for linkage to Alias must be active. Dormant or Restricted account cannot be linked with a Fawran Alias.
6. The maximum daily transfer limit using FAWRAN is QAR. 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand Qatari Riyals).
7. Customers cannot cancel, request a refund, or amend the transaction once it has been initiated through Online and Mobile Banking.
8. Individual accounts are not allowed to be involved with business transactions.
9. The customer acknowledges that he/she is the source of transferred funds and that such funds are legitimate and not collected or otherwise being a direct or indirect proceeds of any crimes punishable by law.
10. Customers are prohibited to use their account for any illegal purposes such as fraud and money laundering according to the requirements of anti-money laundering and the Qatar Central Bank instructions.
11. The customer acknowledges and agrees that they will be responsible for any losses due to erroneous or duplicate payment transactions performed by the customer.
12. The bank may freeze the transferred funds if it is suspected to money laundering terrorism financing or terrorist organizations or any suspicious/ illegal activity.
13. Customer is not permitted to use Alias name that includes an inappropriate or non-conventional name or religious term or term, names with connotation to public or religious figures or that otherwise reflect poorly on the Scheme or are offensive or otherwise inappropriate.

15. The above provisions are subject to the laws of the State of Qatar.
