Out of the belief of Doha Bank’s Senior Management in Allah’s saying: ﴾Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. ﴿and in solidarity with the Syrian people in their humanitarian distress, His Excellency Sheikh Fahad bin Mohammad bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Doha Bank, issued instructions to the concerned departments in the bank to donate an amount of QR 100,000 through Qatar Red Crescent to support the efforts exerted to secure the basic needs for the Syrian people in the face of the adversity that beset them during the harsh winter.
His Excellency Sheikh Fahad expressed his thanks and appreciation to Qatar Red Crescent for their continued efforts to support the distressed families of the Syrian community. His Excellency also extended special thanks to the staff and other volunteers who devoted a considerable amount of their time and efforts to help the people facing difficult living conditions, and prayed to the Almighty Allah to bless the Syrian people, and the other Muslim peoples, with security and stability.
Mr. Saad Bin Shaheen Al-Kaabi – Director of Resources Mobilization and Investment at Qatar Red Crescent, expressed QRC’s deep sense of gratitude to Doha Bank’s action and praised the initiative of the Bank’s Board of Administration. He, meanwhile, urged all banks and business sectors to exercise their corporate social responsibility toward the communities in which they operate.
“QRC’s vision is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity, rallying and engaging all business sectors and civil societies to support this noble cause”, Al-Kaabi said.
“For three years, we have been supporting the Syrian people with medical services and relief items. QRC has a mechanism of delivering such services. The money raised will be used to provide the displaced Syrian people, inside Syria or on the borders, with some basic needs, such as bed sheets, mattresses, pillows, heaters and winter clothing for children,” Al-Kaabi concluded.
H.E. Sheikh Fahad praised the humanitarian role played by Qatar’s government and people and the support that they extend to the suffering Syrian people through charity organizations and generous individual donors who sympathize with the sufferings of other peoples. He hoped that everyone will cooperate with Qatar Red Crescent to help them get these aides delivered to the largest possible number of people during these difficult days.
